Overall it's a simple process, the hardest part is developing an eye for graphic design. If you don't know how to create original graphic design material, I recommend looking at your competitors & analysing what they do. This isn't copying, you're just pigging back off of their success.
Facebook Ads Rules
Firstly you need to understand what Facebook rules & regulations say about images in their ads. The short version of it is, the less text the better. Try it yourself, scroll through Facebook or Instagram and have a look at how many ads have text.
Facebook doesn't like text in images because it looks spammy.
New Project in Canva
Create a new project in Canva, to suit your dimensions. There is no "perfect" Facebook Ad size, because each placement has a seperate dimension. I recommend creating the ad in 1:1 & 9:16, this is perfect for Newsfeed Ads & Story Ads.
Design your Facebook Ad
Now you have your canvas setup, you can get started designing your ad. Remember, don't have too much text, ideally you should have 0.
Preview your Designs
You can now save & download your designs. I hope you're happy with them!
