Squarespace SEO for Beginners
Hello guys, in this video I dive into Squarespace SEO for Beginners. I introduce you to the basics of SEO and how you can apply them within your Squarespace website.
For a bit of context, my entire website is built on Squarespace, so I have years of practise of mastering SEO within Squarespace & the results have been excellent. Several of my pages rank #1 within Google, so I know what I'm talking about.
In this video, I analyse one of my blog articles which is ranking #1 in Google. We go through 7 tips to improve your SEO within Squarespace. Let's get into it.
Choose your Target Keyword
This is a bit of a brain no brainer, but you need to define your target keyword, otherwise you can't optimise your webpage for it.
Page Title
Your page title needs to reflect your target SEO keyword. Or at least a variation of the keyword.
Define your Page URL
The page URL should be kept as short as possible, but include all your important keywords.
Meta Title & Description
Similar to your page title, your meta title & description need to reflect your target keyword. They also need to be eye catching, because these will draw people in to click on your website.
Image Names & Alt Tags
Make sure your images are named correctly & accuaretly with keywords that reflect your target keyword.
Internal & External Links
Having internal and external links shows Google that you're leading views to new content, which is exactly what Google wants to achieve. They want everyone to stay on their platform.
Headings & Subheadings
This is how Google categorises and understands your content, so use your headings correctly to divide your webpage into sections.
I hope you guys learnt a thing or two from this video. I really enjoyed making it.
Cheers,
Luke Mead.
