How to Sell Products on TikTok
Selling on TikTok has honestly changed my life in the past 3 months.
I recently launched my first eCommerce shop & I have been super charging my sales with TikTok.
Although the process seems complex, it really isn't - I show you my formula for selling products on TikTok.
Now this can work for all types of businesses, including drop shipping, physical retailers & even service based businesses.
Let’s get straight into it.
The 3 Stages of Selling on TikTok
I have broken down my strategy into three stages, and they’ve proven to work.
The great thing about each stage is, they each give you an opportunity to improve your sales conversion rate by optimising each stage.
The three stages are:
Your TikTok video
Your promotional offer
Your eCommerce shop
Let’s begin to break down & dive into how to complete each stage.
Your TikTok Video
This only one third of selling products on TikTok, but you must get this right - to even be in with a chance of generating sales.
There are really two successful components of a TikTok video.
The hook - which draws people in and convinces them to watch the entire video.
The story - which is how you deliver on your hook and keep your viewer engaged throughout the video.
If you nail these two components of your video, then you’re right on track to create a viral video.
Your Promotion
After someone watches your TikTok video, what do they need to do?
They need to visit your eCommerce shop. In my case, I like to send them straight to my product which is a car hat holder.
So you need to give people a really strong incentive to do so.
I find that the best promotional offer is a price discount, in the form of a discount code.
You need to give anywhere from 10% - 20% off of your product, for people to really stop and take action.
Your eCommerce Shop
Finally if someone has landed on your eCommerce shop, after watching your TikTok, you need to do your best to convert them to a customer.
We track this by the conversion rate of your online shop.
And our main goal is to optimise your conversion rate.
For context, a 1% conversion rate is considered about average across most industries.
So it’s great to aim for a conversion rate of 2% - 3%. That means our online shop is converting extremely well.
Currently our shop is converting at this rate, whilst some products like our folding antenna mount, convert a little higher.

I break down these topics in a lot more depth and it’s much more engaging.
